Run for Independence - Stanford, Kentucky - UGH!

Let's just say this: my running buddy must be my sanity! This race was miserable...and I'm pretty sure it was because I had her in my sights the entire time and was in pain because we weren't running together! My time was 30:46. It isn't really that bad, but I've done this course in a lot less before. But then I have to look at the bright side: at least I can get out and do it! God gives me the strength everyday to be able to keep myself healthy! For that I am grateful!

Not only was it VERY, VERY humid during the race, but the hills were excruciating. I've run this course several times, and I honestly can say that I don't remember the hills being as long and grueling as they were this past Saturday. What a task!!!

At the end of the day, several of us won medals in our age groups. I got 3rd in my age group, Renita got 2nd, and Twila got 1st. We dominated our age group! Katrina also got 3rd in her age group! Way to go girls! All in all, a very productive day! (Not to mention, when I got home, I rode six miles on the bike!)

Keep an eye out this week...several product reviews coming and a Ryders Eyewear giveaway!

  1. Congratulations on a strong finish despite the humidity and hills. I'm starting to think H words are bad words for runners. Heh.

And nice job placing in your age group! Whoo hoo!
