Running Chics Review

Just this week, I received an Alo tank in the mail from Running Chics (visit website here). The tank is white and has their logo centered on the front of the tank and on the back at the very bottom of the shirt. It is absolutely adorable!

I wore the shirt on Sunday, for a five mile run with my running buddy, Bobbie (visit her blog here). Bobbie was the one who gave me the inspiration to try products and review them on my blog. I'm loving every minute of it! Anyhoo...wore the tank on a five mile run in 85 degree heat with sun beating down on us almost the entire time. We were grateful for any tree that directed it's shade onto the road! It was warm. As for the tank, WOW! Compared to all of my current running shirts, (no need to disclose the brand), there is no comparison! I've never worn a shirt so comfortable and so cool! Of course we were hot...we were running! But, I was nowhere near as hot as I've been on cooler days,
wearing a different shirt. It is honestly above and beyond any of the other big name brand shirts that I own. If it's clean, I'll be wearing it! Bobbie will probably get tired of looking at it! A big thank you to Andrea over at Running Chics! Once again, click here to visit their site!

Andrea also sent me one of their logo t-shirts and a bag with their logo. Thanks Andrea!

Bondi Band Review!

I was recently sent three Bondi Bands from the Bondi Band company to try and review on my blog. My favorite thing about them: they are so cute! The designs are adorable! I usually don't wear anything like what I have on in the picture, but I thought I would try this one instead of the plain purple one they sent, and I love it now! I never thought I'd feel comfortable wearing something that flashy, but I really do like it! Not only are they cute, but they are comfortable also. They are very lightweight and don't feel heavy on your head, which is exactly what you need when running. I had a little trouble keeping it on my head today, but when I wore it two nights ago, I didn't have that problem. My guess: I stretched it out a little bit. It was a very hot run with lots of hills, so sweat was definitely present. Not to mention, it was running down my face as you can tell. I don't think the Bondi Band could have kept the sweat from running down my face today. I also think they would be good for running in cold weather due to the fact that you can pull it down over your ears. I know it's not very thick, but I don't like running with something thick on my ears anyway, so this would be perfect!

Overall, VERY PLEASED with my new Bondi Bands! Thank you Bondi Band!

Whew! It's HOT!

The past two nights have been HOT! Last night, we ran four miles and tonight we ran almost four miles. Last night, GREAT! Tonight, MISERABLE! Last night, didn't have to stop and walk. Tonight, stopped and walked A LOT! It's amazing how some days you can have great runs and then some days it's like you've never run a day in your life. So to those of you who are just starting running, even when you've been running a long time, you still have THOSE DAYS! But, in our defense, it was stinkin' HOT out there!

What started as a three person running date last night...turned out to be a six person running date! AWESOME! Bobbie, Katrina, and I had planned on meeting at the Hub at 9:00 (trying to beat the heat) and run four miles. Lo and behold, it ended up being Bobbie, Katrina, Me, Gerard, Twila, and Angela. What a crew!

Although it was hot, we had a great run! Now...the most important person that was present...wasn't even running. Bobbie's mother, Ruby, was there waiting on us at the start and the finish, with nice, COLD, ice water! What a blessing!

Tonight, it was just myself, Bobbie, Gerard, and Twila. And I think we were all feeling the pain a little bit. We all at some point felt a stitch in our sides from the heat and we all at some point ended up walking. HOT! HOT! HOT! (Do you think the fact that I drank NO water today had anything to do with it?) My advice: ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER! Enjoy the pics of our running crew!

Sweaty Band Review!

Well, I received my first free running product in the mail over the holiday weekend and have been able to try it out twice since then. It's called a Sweaty Band. And ladies, I have to tell you...not only are they adorably cute, but they are extremely comfortable! I've always had short hair until last year. I grew my hair out for my wedding, but before that, always needed something to hold my short hair back. I could never find anything that didn't let the sweat run in my face, didn't hold my hair back, or didn't give me a headache by the time I was finished with my run. Well, the Sweaty Band is a miracle! It does all three! It keeps the sweat from rolling down into my eyes, keeps my hair out of my face, and the best part, I don't have a headache from wearing it! Oh, did I mention how cute they are??? They are absolutely adorable! For those of you that know me, you know I would tell you how I really feel about something...and Sweaty Bands are awesome! Thank you Lesley Folan and Donna Browning of Sweaty Bands for allowing me to try one! For those of you who live in the Lexington, Kentucky area, you can purchase them at John's Run Walk Shop in Lexington or online, CLICK HERE. I am wearing my new sweaty band in both pictures! Enjoy!

Sorry so long...

Alright bloggies, sorry it's been so long! It was a hectic weekend and a hectic start to the week. The worst part...an injury! But don't worry, it's not one that keeps me out of the loop completely. I just have to take it easy. I have strained a muscle close to my groin and the doctor told me I didn't have to stop running, but not to add on any mileage or any speed work until it doesn't hurt anymore. I'm okay with that!

On the flip side, I am receiving tons of sample stuff from different companies to try out while I'm training. Be looking for reviews for all the products that I will be trying out! I'm so excited!

On another note, anyone else watching the Tour? What do you think? Do you think Lance can pull one out of his hat? Let's hope so!!! USA! He had some trouble today on the cobblestones, but he's hanging in there!

Well, it's been a long day and it's time for bed! A four mile run tomorrow! Nighty night all!

Loooooong Day...

WOW! It started at 5:45, and it hasn't stopped! What a day...and a great one at that! It started with the Liberty Bell 5K in Liberty, Ky. My time was somewhere around 29:45...but the race was about 3.25 miles instead of 3.1, so I could probably shave a minute off of my time if I wanted to. After the race, Bobbie, Gerard, Mama Ruby, Katrina, and I had a wonderful breakfast at Cracker Barrel. So much for shedding calories during the race! Bacon...YUM!

Once at home, it was time for some much needed nap time! Got up, took a shower, went to a 4th of July cookout with Jeremiah's family, and came home and spent some much needed quality time with the hubby! :) We haven't seen each other all week! And tonight, we were blessed with some beautiful fireworks at Jason and Katrina's. All in all...a great day! We are so blessed!

What a face! Myself with Bobbie, my much loved running buddy!

Bobbie, myself, and Katrina before the race begins!

Lazy Day...for the most part!

Well, today was a lazy day, for the most part. Bobbie and I ran 10K this morning, which wasn't lazy of us at all. But, lazy happened when I got home.

For some reason, I freeze after I've finished running. So, I came home, put on some pajamas with long sleeves and posted up on the couch, with no intention of falling asleep. The problem was...after being outside for that long, my allergies were unbearable! (My sister keeps telling me that I've needed to see an allergist since I was one, but I don't know how I feel about that many needles in my back!) When my head hit the pillow on the couch, I was gone. The next thing I knew, it was one in the afternoon! They say when you sleep like that, you really need it!

Anyhoo...6.2 miles down today, 4 more tomorrow, and then the Liberty Bell 5K in Liberty, KY on Saturday...aiming for under 27 minutes...let's see what happens!

P.S. - If you aren't already a follower of my blog...c'mon...join the crowd! Please!
